What People Say

Most Liked

One standout at El Coco Pirata has to be the quality of the food. Patrons rave about the freshness of the seafood, often echoing the sentiment that each dish tastes like it came straight from the ocean. The ceviche receives high praise, particularly the Cev Camaron with mango, which tantalizes the taste buds with its bright flavors. Many diners also appreciate the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere filled with friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure satisfaction, creating a sense of community within the restaurant. Lastly, the drink selection, including craft cocktails and local beers, hits the spot, perfectly complementing the tasty dishes.

Most Disliked

While El Coco Pirata holds a strong reputation, a few aspects spark occasional dissatisfaction. Some diners express that the wait times for food can be longer than expected, especially during busy periods, which can lead to impatience. The restaurant's smaller size may also result in a cramped atmosphere during peak hours, making it hard for larger groups to find comfortable seating. Moreover, a few patrons find the menu’s prices on the higher side compared to other dining options in Roswell, although many agree that the quality justifies the cost. Lastly, the limited parking space can pose a challenge during rush hours.

My husband took me here for my birthday and let me just say we were all impressed. I had told him that this is one of the places I wanted to visit since they had sushi. In my head I thought I was just going to get sushi rolls but I was pleasantly surprised, they have a wide selection of dishes and I just had to get myself a molcajete and a sushi roll. The staff was incredibly attentive and very sweet. They even apologized for not having music on because there were guests who wanted it to be quite. Once they turned the music on they made sure it was at a level we were happy with. The presentation with each dish was stellar, and the taste was out of this world! The portion size was also excellent. The prices are a little up there but you are truly paying for quality food. All the ingredients are fresh and everything is made to order. The owner was nice enough to comp our desserts since it was my birthday. We weren't expecting that so it was definitely a lovely surprise. This place is definitely a diamond in the rough and we will be going again. If you want something thats different and delicious I highly recommend going to this restaurant, you won't be disappointed! One thing to keep in mind is that the location is a little small and since everything is fresh you will be waiting a bit to get you food, even more so if they are packed, but believe you me it is WELL WORTH IT!!

I rode to Roswell from NYC on my motorcycle. I expected nothing more than silly UFO stuff. After riding through a storm, I parked the bike and walked to El Coco Pirata. It was fantastic. The food was great. The waitress was exceptional, and the music was an unexpected pleasure. They had a guy playing guitar and singing, but also microphones were passed around to various tables and a beautiful chorus ensued. This was an unexpected treat after a long day. I had so much fun as I enjoyed a delicious meal. Everyone was super friendly. I highly recommend El Coco Pirata. I had the octopus. Yum! I only wish I had more time to try different items on the menu.

Finally a baja style restaurant that made us feel like we were on the beach. From the freshness of the fish to the decor, it was an escape for us. The food was amazing with more fish options than we could think of. It’s a good thing because the music in the background will make you want to jump up and dance. We highly recommend it.

My first time visit to El Coco Pirata. Nice friendly reception, when I came in. Seated right away. The I ordered the marlin fish tacos. I highly recommend them. They come with a sauce that looks like maybe an avocado sauce of some sort, with some delicious spice to it. They were not little skimpy tacos either, my hungry appetite was satisfied when I left. Muy Bueno Amigos!

Food was amazing. Made you feel like you were on vacation. Music was a bit too loud but besides that everything was great!

Very good experience, we sat outside and they brought some lights because it was getting dark. Waitress and I believe the owner and manager came to check up on us multiple times and the staff is very friendly. It's the first time me and my husband have tried this place in Roswell, but my parents really like it and recommended it. The only thing is that there is a bit of a difference in the taste of the sushi between the restaurant in Roswell and their other location in Hobbs. I prefer the taste of the sushi from hobbs, but every dish was still really good. Would really recommend.
